Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Nili helps you find parties, book tickets, get in at the door and meet other guests. These terms are the agreement between you and Nili (“Nili”, “we”, “us”) for using the website and app. Please read them along with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms.
1. About these terms
By creating an account, booking a ticket or hosting a party, you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use Nili.
Parties on Nili are organised and run by their hosts, not by us. We provide the platform: listings, ticketing, payments, door check-in and the tools for guests to connect. The host is responsible for the event itself.
2. Who can use Nili
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or book a ticket.
- Some parties have a higher age limit, a dress code or other entry rules. These are shown on the party page and the host can enforce them at the door.
- Carry a valid government photo ID to every party. The name on it should match your Nili account or the ticket you hold.
- You can't use Nili if we've closed your account before, or if the law doesn't allow you to.
3. Your account
- Use your real name and keep your email and phone number up to date. Tickets, receipts and refund updates are sent to them.
- One person, one guest account. Don't create accounts for other people or share your login.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has got into it, change your password and write to us straight away.
- Host, door staff and admin accounts run parties and can't book tickets. If you also want to go to parties, use a separate guest account.
- You can download your data or delete your account from Settings.
4. Bookings and tickets
A booking is confirmed once the payment succeeds (or straight away for free parties) and your ticket appears in your account. Until then, nothing is reserved for you.
- You can hold one booking per party. A booking can include several tickets, or tiers that admit more than one person, such as a couple ticket. One QR code checks in everyone on the booking.
- Invite-only parties need the host to approve your request first, and an invite is for one person.
- Private parties need the access code from the host.
- Prices, tiers, quantities and promo codes are set by the host. A promo code can have limits and may run out while you're paying.
- If a party sells out or is cancelled while you're paying, we cancel that part of the order and refund it automatically.
- Tickets stay on sale until the doors close, 2 hours after the party ends.
Your ticket and its QR code
- Your ticket's QR code is your entry. Keep it to yourself: whoever shows it first gets in, and a code can only be used once.
- Tickets can't be resold or transferred outside Nili. Screenshots, copies and tickets bought from other people may be refused at the door.
- Where the host allows it, you can send a ticket to another Nili account from the app before the party starts. The ticket gets a new code and yours stops working. Invite-only tickets can't be sent, and a ticket with a refund request waiting can't be sent until you withdraw the request. You can't send a ticket to someone who already holds one for that party or whose account can't book. If a ticket someone sent you is refunded, the money goes back to the person who paid for it.
- Selling tickets for more than you paid, or as a business, isn't allowed.
5. Getting in
- Doors open for scanning up to 2 hours before the start and close 2 hours after the party ends.
- The host and their door staff decide who comes in. They can refuse or remove anyone who breaks the party's stated rules, has no valid ID, is too intoxicated, puts others at risk, or when the venue has reached a safe capacity.
- If you're refused entry or removed for breaking the party's rules or these terms, you aren't owed a refund.
- Follow the venue's rules and the instructions of the host, staff and security. Venues may search bags.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Free cancellation, until 12 hours before the start
You can cancel your booking yourself, from the ticket in your account, until 12 hours before the party starts. You get everything you paid back, including the convenience fee, and every ticket on the booking stops working. No approval from the host is needed.
After that, and for bookings made within 12 hours of the start
You can't cancel yourself any more, but until the party starts you can ask the host for a refund from your ticket. The host decides. If they agree, you get the ticket price back minus the party's cancellation fee, which is shown on the party page and at checkout before you book. The convenience fee and the GST on it aren't refunded in this case. If the host declines, your ticket stays valid. You can withdraw a request while it's waiting.
Once the party has started, or your ticket has been scanned, you can no longer cancel it or ask for a refund. A request can't be approved once you've been checked in, or after you've sent the ticket to someone else.
If the host cancels
If a party is cancelled by its host or by us, every guest gets a full refund, convenience fee included. The same applies when a host cancels an individual ticket.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through our payment partner. Once we've sent a refund, the time it takes to reach you depends on Razorpay and your bank. If an automatic refund fails, we pay it by hand and let you know. Free tickets have nothing to refund; cancelling one frees the place for someone else.
A host may describe extra refund terms on their party page. Where they're more generous than this section, the host's terms apply. Nothing here limits your rights under Indian consumer law.
7. Prices and payments
- Prices are in Indian rupees (₹) and are shown before you pay, including any convenience fee and the GST on that fee. The convenience fee is a percentage of each ticket's price, between a minimum and a maximum per ticket, and free tickets have none. Some hosts cover the fee themselves, and then you pay the ticket price only.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay. We don't see or store your full card, UPI or bank details.
- Paying for a party you're already booked into, or a party that sold out while you paid, is refunded automatically.
- At parties with in-app bar service, orders go on your tab and you pay the bill the venue sends, in the app or at the counter. Food and drink are sold by the venue, not by Nili.
- Before your first alcoholic drink at a party you confirm you're of legal drinking age, and the venue may check your ID. Any service charge on the menu is optional: you can remove it from your bill in the app.
- If the venue changes your bar bill while you're paying it, or a bill gets paid twice, that payment is refunded in full to the way you paid, automatically.
8. Hosting a party
If you list a party on Nili, you also agree that:
- Your listing is accurate: date, times, venue, address, prices, age limit, dress code, refund terms and anything else guests need to know. Every party is reviewed before it goes live, and we can send it back or take it down.
- You have the right to hold the event at the venue, with every licence, permission and permit it needs (including for alcohol, music and capacity), and you follow the law, including on safety, age limits and taxes.
- You honour every valid ticket issued through Nili, check guests in with the app, and don't let in more people than your stated capacity.
- You set a fair cancellation fee and decide refund requests promptly and in good faith. If you cancel the party, every guest is refunded in full.
- You treat guests' details (names, emails, phone numbers) as confidential and use them only to run your party, never for unrelated marketing or to sell.
- You're responsible for your door staff and for anyone you add as staff in the app.
- You'll cover claims, costs and losses that arise because your event or your listing broke the law or these terms.
How you get paid
- Guests pay through Nili. We pay you your party's ticket sales (for tickets still valid), the cancellation fees kept on refunds you approved, and bar bills guests paid in the app.
- From that we deduct Nili's commission and 18% GST on it, at the rate published for hosts or the rate agreed for your party, and any convenience fee you chose to cover for your guests.
- As the marketplace, we must also withhold income tax (TDS under section 194-O of the Income-tax Act, at 5% if your PAN isn't verified) and, if you're GST registered, collect GST (TCS under section 52 of the CGST Act). We deposit both with the government in your name, so you can claim them.
- We pay out after the door has closed (2 hours after the party ends) plus a waiting period, normally 24 hours, and every refund request is decided, to the bank account you verified with our payment partner, Razorpay. Standard payouts are free and usually arrive within 2 working days. Where offered, instant payouts arrive within minutes, for a published fee.
- For your first parties, we hold back a share of each payout (the reserve) and pay it after a set period, to cover chargebacks. The share and the period are shown in your dashboard.
- Once your payout has been sent, tickets for that party can no longer be refunded in the app. If a guest disputes a payment with their bank after that and wins, we may recover the amount from your next payouts.
- If deductions are more than a party's sales (for example, fees you covered on a quiet night), the difference is carried forward and taken from your next payouts. Each statement shows any amount recovered this way.
9. Guest lists, matches and chats
When a host turns on the guest list, guests with a ticket can see who else is going and poke each other. When two people poke each other, they can chat one to one. You can hide yourself from guest lists at any time in Settings; while hidden, you don't see others either.
Meeting people is optional and should always be safe and consensual. Follow the Community Guidelines, block anyone who makes you uncomfortable, and take care when meeting someone in person. We don't run background checks on users.
10. What you post
You keep ownership of what you add to Nili: your profile, photos, messages, party listings and posters. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and share that content as needed to run Nili, for example showing a party poster on the events page. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep it by law or it has already been shared with others, such as messages someone has received.
Only post what you have the right to share. We can remove content that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, or that we're required to remove by law.
11. Things you must not do
- Harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone, or share someone's personal information without their consent.
- Pretend to be someone else, or give false details to book, host or get in.
- Resell, counterfeit, copy or misuse tickets or QR codes.
- List fake, misleading or unlawful events, or use Nili to sell anything other than real tickets.
- Send spam, scams, phishing links or unsolicited promotion.
- Scrape, copy or collect other users' data, or use bots to book tickets.
- Interfere with Nili's security, get around its limits, or try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours.
- Use Nili for anything illegal, including selling drugs or arranging anything unlawful at a party.
12. Suspension and closing accounts
We can warn you, remove content, cancel listings, limit features or suspend or close your account if you break these terms or the Community Guidelines, if we're required to by law, or to protect other people. Where we can, we tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close your account for reasons that aren't your fault, we refund tickets for parties that haven't happened yet.
You can delete your account from Settings. While you hold tickets for upcoming parties or host one, cancel or send those first, so nobody loses a ticket or a party by accident. Hosts can delete their account once every payout we owe them has been paid.
13. Disclaimers
Nili is provided as it is and as available. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Events are run by their hosts: we don't control and aren't responsible for the venue, the line-up, the music, the crowd, food and drink, or anything that happens at a party. Line-ups and details can change; check the party page before you go.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, travel costs or missed plans, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through Nili for the booking the claim is about. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, contact us first: most problems can be fixed quickly. Disputes that can't be resolved that way are subject to the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Nili changes or the law requires. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using Nili after a change, you accept the new terms.
17. Contact and grievances
Questions or complaints about these pages, your account or a booking can go to support@niliparty.app.
Grievance Officer, grievance@niliparty.app. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
